2. He worked at INFOSYS Bangalore for 2 years.
3. There are around 40 lakh migrant workers in Kerala(one-tenth of that of the local population). They are omnipresent(hotels, barbershop, construction workers etc) you need to know HINDI to communicate with them, so most Malayalees can understand Hindi. :D

So he will understand Hindi almost certainly.
