Beef is banned in some states in India. There is a debate saying India is intolerant. Pork is banned in countries. Does that mean they’re intolerant?

Its is more than 150 years since ‘Indian Rebellion of 1857’ happened.
The spark that led to a mutiny in several sepoy companies was the issue of new gunpowder cartridges for the Enfield rifle in February, 1857. British officers insisted that the new cartridges be used by both Muslim and Hindu soldier.but the cartridges were made by the cow and pigs fat. Loading the Enfield required tearing open the greased cartridge with one's teeth. This insulted both Hindu and Muslim religious practices.
After all these years the beef-pork issue is still relevant. In past one year many were killed by ‘gorakshaks’. It is forced tolerance, out of fear of getting killed people have to change their food habits. TIt is the government which decides what a citizen has to eat.
I am a Malayali(Kerala) here irrespective of religion every eat beef and pork. Those who find it incoherent with their faith don’t consume pork/beef.
(I am not a an admirer of Shariat rule and is totally against creating an Indian version of the same)
